About Grossmünster
The Grossmünster, at Zwingliplatz 7, is a former monastery built over the graves of the city’s patron saints, Felix and Regula. Its highlights include the stained-glass windows by Sigmar Polke (since 2009), the choir windows by Augusto Giacometti (1933), the Romanesque crypt and the bronze doors by Otto Münch; 187 steps lead up the Karlsturm to six panoramic windows. Renovation works run from January 2025 to 2029. Tower: March to October, Monday to Saturday 10:00–18:00, November to February until 17:00; Sundays after the service.
