About Mount Pilatus
Mount Pilatus rises south of Lucerne; its cogwheel railway from Alpnachstad, which Zurich Tourism calls the steepest in the world, runs from May until November. From 19 October to 27 November 2026 the gondolas and cable car are closed for maintenance and the summit is reached only by the cogwheel railway (pilatus.ch).
